Ramayan tipped to end

25 May se har kahani legi naya mod. (From 25 May, every show on Imagine will have a twist in the tale.) In Ramayan , viewers will see Lord Ram and Hanuman at loggerheads but the bigger news is that this epic is tipped to come to its logical end on 26 Jun.

As per sources, Ramayan will come to a halt on 26 June and another Sagar Arts show is said to be replacing it.

A leading actor from Ramayan says, “We haven’t received any official information from the producer or the channel. All I can say is that is that Ramayan is not a soap which can be stretched by having generational leaps. The script is well etched out and clear and so obviously the story has to end with Sita’s dharti mein samagam (Sita being swallowed by the Earth) followed by Ram and Lakshman drowning themselves in a lake. Now when and how long will it take for it to air, I can’t comment on it as we haven’t shot that as yet.”

Producer Anand Sagar refused to comment anything.

We tried contacting Imagine programming head Shailja Kejriwal and even sent her a text message but she refused to comment.

Ali-Sara out of Hans Baliye

Real life lovers Ali Merchant and Sara Khan have been evicted from the up-coming comedy show Hans Baliye. The buzz has it that Sara Khan forgot her lines which led to their ouster. Sara-Ali is the first couple to get eliminated from the show.

A source informs, “Though they both were very good actors and their chemistry on screen was fabulous too but poor Sara who had been suffering from a high fever for a couple of days suddenly blanked on stage and forgot her lines. Though her partner Ali Merchant tried to cover this big mistake but it was all in vain. And finally the couple got eliminated.”

Further he added, “Judges David Dhawan and Karishma Kapoor felt bad about the incident but they also couldn’t save them as the rules didn’t allow them to do so. In the competition there are some stand- up comedians also who are better at comedy than the other actors and it may create a problem in the show.”

Priya Bhajita in Vikram Betal

The saga of story-telling by Betal to Vikram commences from 24 May. In the first tale, Priya Bhatija-Shah plays a princess.

Talking about her role, Priya says, “The story is titled Sonprabha ki kahani. I play princess Sonprabha. The basic plot is that Sonprabha’s father is looking for a groom for her daughter. There are three princes and a raakshas (demon) who is interested in me. On the day of swayamvar, all three princes show up. The demon kidnaps me and takes me to a secluded place. The three princes now try rescuing me. Now, who will Princess Sonprbaha marry? For that you will have to see the episode.”

So, how was it to work in a mytho?

“It was really good as this is the first time that I’m playing a mythological character. Also, it’s first time that I got to play a princess. I shot for six days in Baroda. Though it was a pleasant experience, I’m not too keen on playing such characters more as you’re often required to shoot outdoors. For six days, I was shooting under temperature of 48 degree Celsius. I’ve played varied characters be it a typical Muslim girl in Khwaish or the cunning Ganga in Kasamh Se. So, I’d like to keep the trend going.” said Priya.

Jhumki – Thumki to bring back Rani

Star Plus’Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat is all set to bring in an interesting turn for its loyal viewers. Jhumki – Thumki, the two witches who have successfully accomplished their mission of sacking Rani out of the mahal will now be forced to bring her back.

Informs a source from the show, “Kunwar Yudhishtir is celebrating his birthday. His entire family especially his wife Rani has to be present at the do. The couple will have to be present before the loyal subjects. But Rani has been thrown out of the mahal by the two buas, who are now in a fix, as they have to get her back. They fear the worst if Rani will blurt out the truth. They have to bring her back at the risk of being exposed.”

When contacted, Anjali Abrol aka Rani, said, “Yes, the two bua who have thrown me out of the mahal will have to bring me back. Only two maids Kalee and Bhanumati know that Rani is hiding in the mahal itself in the disguise of a maid called Kajri. But the two buas think that she is in her village. They send Kalee to bring Rani back.”

Will Rani expose the evil buas thus revealing their plans? The episode will air sometime next week.
